G’Day, I’m Back Baby

Well g’day there,

As you can see, I’ve finally managed to get around to upgrading my blog to WordPress. It’s been over two and a half months since I posted my final entry over at jjprojects.blogspot.com. That blog will remain as an archive of last year’s posts.

It’s not really that long ago but it seems like it. A lot has happened in my life since then. My son James has been born for one thing. This parenting thing has kept me pretty busy, as you can imagine.

I’ve decided to make my blog a little more casual and personal from now on. I’ll still post a lot of work related items of course. It’s just that with all the social media I’ve become involved in, business and personal matters are starting to mix on all sorts of levels. I might as well go with it and see where it leads in ’08.

Nice header image. About the shot of James – is that shimmer in his right eye a reflection of you with the camera? That would make you just a twinkle in your son’s eye ….

Welcome back! Glad you kept up to date with us on Twitter while you weren’t blogging. Little James is a gorgeous baby! Great way to start back up blogging, with a photo of your best JJ Project ever. :-)

  • Andrea (cyberetto)

Congratulations, JJ! I like the style of the site.

@Kathryn Thanks! Hehe, I think that is me as the twinkle in his eye. Isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?

@Connie Thx for the welcome back. Yes, I think I’ve been twittering more during my macro-blogging hiatus. Yep, he’s definitely my best project ever, no doubt about it :)

@Andrea Thx very much. See you on Twitter, Seesmic and back here hopefully ;)

    Hi John,

A bub – Congratulations, and congrats to May as well. He’s gorgeous! We’ve got a little 14 month old boy called Lukas who is keeping us busy. I’ve been keeping a blog for fun over the last year. I’ll have to check out Twitter and Seesmic as I haven’t discovered them yet.

    Cheers
    Anna-Lisa

Hi JJ – re your WP email issues – I run a WP blog, on its own server and URL (not a wordpress.com hosted system), and does what you’re wanting, so these screen dumps may worth a look at ….

    1) obvious but …. have you got your email address entered correctly ? – See http://images.martin-english.com/wp_mail_01.jpg

    2) What about your ‘discussion’ options ? – See http://images.martin-english.com/wp_mail_02.jpg

    3) is http://www.jjprojects.net hosted or on your own server ? – I guess Im asking if the mail server works :)

Hey john, keep up your good work. I’ll be checking here often. ;)

@Anna-Lisa Thx, and Hi there! Haven’t seen you for a while, this new blog upgrade has been well worth it already. Wow, it must have been a long while, because I didn’t know about Lukas, or your blog.

Yeah, I love Twitter, and Seesmic is only in pre-alpha at the moment, but I’m kind of hooked on that already too. I think I’ll write a post or three about it soon.

@martin Thanks very much for the troubleshooting info. I think I do have those options entered correctly, but I’ll double check. Yes, this blog is being hosted on a separate server.

@Yas Hey Yas, thx! We’ll have to catch up soon okay. I’ve been really busy with this whole parenting thing, but I’ll drop you a line soon for sure :)
