The team at Twitter has been doing some research and has come up with the Top Twitter Trends of 2009. As I worked as social media manager for Earth Hour Global, it’s very pleasing indeed to see that Earth Hour made it into one of the top 10 lists – the News Events list no less!
Back in April, after Earth Hour 2009, I posted briefly about how contagious Earth Hour became online, but it’s amazing to look back now and see it as one of the top topics for the whole year on Twitter.
Thanks to everyone who participated by tweeting about Earth Hour, helping to spread the world online! No doubt many of you have also been tweeting about Copenhagen and #COP15 (which have both been trending) over the past couple of weeks. This is certainly continuing to add to the pressure on governments for action on climate change. More power to you. Rock on!
